Plants play role in Green Building Council’s headquarters
Upholstery Journal | February 2008
The Green Building Council Headquarters is buying in to the Green Plant for Green Building’s message (GPGB) as evidenced by installing indoor plants.
The potted-plant microcosm has been shown to reduce airborne concentrations of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels, as well as decrease complaints of symptoms associated with respiratory illness and poor indoor air quality. Several studies have shown lower workplace stress, a decrease in fatigue and enhanced productivity.
Interior plant providers have witnessed a resurgence in indoor plant use, driven by the greater recognition of the health benefits, but also by the introduction of more eco-friendly design.
