Wind and water repellent zipper
Upholstery Journal | April 2008
RiRi USA Inc. developed Aquazip for use in marine applications. The woven polyester zipper tape is laminated with a waterproof polyurethane material onto which plastic teeth are injection-molded. This forms a chemical bond to increase strength and durability. The slider makes contact only with the plastic teeth and avoids touching the polyurethane coating, which protects from wear. The Aquazip is finished with a water-resistant treatment.
Available in more than 30 matte tape colors, the Aquazip can be bonded or sewn. The zipper is available in sizes 4, 6 and 8, and custom colors can be developed.
