Acrylic adhesives
Upholstery Journal | April 2008
Robond Prohesion, developed by Rohm and Haas, is a water-based acrylic adhesive used as a bonding alternative to pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes used in automotive interior applications, like door panels, interior pillars, instrument panels and duct work. Pilot tests used in automotive interior applications indicate that Robond Prohesion withstands hot shear tests at 150 degrees F (62 degrees C) for more than 50 hours. The product can retain more than 80 percent of its peel after prolonged exposure to moisture under severe conditions of 90 percent humidity at 95 degrees F (35 degrees C).
