Industry experts predict top trends in home décor for 2008
Upholstery Journal | April 2008
- Personalized wall murals.
- Overstuffed furniture and flea market finds with personality.
- Going green. When it comes to home décor, any recycled products or refurbished goods are trendy and earth savvy.
- Spice-inspired colors. Look for warm colors like reds and coppers, and shiny room accents like mirrors and chrome.
- Smaller light sources. Try under-cabinet lighting and tiny chandeliers. Energy efficient lights never go out of style.
- Texture. Anything that appeals to your sense of touch is fair game.
- Floating objects. Modern, rounded cantilever chairs have streamlined looks.
- Simplified kitchens. Heavy crown moldings and busy countertops are out. Cleaner, more modern looks are in.
- Glamour. Elegant silhouettes and strong geometric lines.
- Feng Shui. It’s worked for 5,000 years. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
