Tanners in India breaking into upholstery

While China, Italy, Argentina and Brazil currently dominate the production of upholstery leather, tanners in India are beginning to elbow their way into the market. By taking advantage of the availability of buffalo hides, Indian tanners can find a growing market for upholstery grade leather, particularly in the automotive sector. India is currently the largest producer of buffalo hides.
