Furniture factory orders up

New orders for residential furniture in November 2009 were up 10 percent from the previous November. This marked the first month since October 2007 that new orders were not lower than the same month from the previous year. Additionally, November shipments were one percent below the previous year, but order backlog among those surveyed was seven percent ahead of the previous November. Consulting firm Smith Leonard conducted the survey.
