Natural offerings from Foamex
Upholstery Journal | June 2008
A major player in the foam industry, Foamex is taking on the world of bedding. Debuted at the International Sleep Products Assn. Expo the expansion includes four new products. Aerus Natural, an environmentally conscious memory foam is constructed using agriculturally derived ingredients, replacing some of the petroleum based materials traditionally used. In addition to earth friendly ingredients, the foam is manufactured using Foamex’s Variable Pressure Foaming technology, said to be a virtually emission-free process.
Also introduced was Natural Bedding, a system of components that incorporates renewable resources. The product family includes, cores, rails, toppers and quilt layers.
Natural Latex by Foamex, a line of 100 percent natural latex products, was also debuted at the expo. This is Foamex’s first offering of latex foam.
Finally, DriFast, polyurethane foam with open cell construction, was launched. The bedding is designed to dissipate heat and moisture. The original DriFast line was used for outdoor furniture.
