TALF won't help auto dealerships
Upholstery Journal | June 2009
The Term Asset Backed Securities Loan Facility (TALF) won’t have much impact on auto or dealership floor-plan loans. TALF will likely only be helping consumers with good credit to get loans, and it has ruled out funding for dealers to get help with floor-plan loans.
Elimination of TALF program funding could have a negative impact on auto restylers, trimmers and upholsterers, since auto dealerships that provide shops’ restyling business will have trouble financing loans to many consumers. This could mean fewer autos sold and more dealerships closing.
