After seeing a need for an easily accessible reference of fabric information, industry veteran Jim Calhoun had the idea for Talktextiles, a new website all about the lore and lingo of the fabric world.

The site provides a glossary of home furnishing textile terms, information about the process of creating textiles from fiber, and a platform for questions, answers and industry discussion. It also features links to other textile sites, an industry calendar, industry suppliers and images featuring fibers, yarns and textiles.

The site is targeted to a broad range of users—anyone from consumers to retailers, textile students, buyers, designers and manufacturers. Users are encouraged to comment on the site and make suggestions for improvements. Visit www.talktextiles.com.
