The results of a recent Center for Automotive Research study were released during a Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) webinar. The study, which was funded by SEMA, looked at the major factors impacting the auto industry and its effects on specialty-equipment suppliers. The outlook was somewhat hopeful, with a slight improvement in vehicle sales shown over the past year and predictions that sales will continue to climb.

“There will be fewer giants, more start-ups and infinite possibilities for those companies and entrepreneurs that don’t want to waste this crisis and are finding innovative ways to leverage this once-in-a-career convergence,” said John Waranick, SEMA vice president of vehicle technology.

During the webinar, Waranick urged members to focus on positives coming out of the industry’s current downturn.
