Eco-friendly leather
Upholstery Journal | August 2008
TEcolife leather from Green Hides is produced with advanced environmentally friendly techniques, and it exceeds many technical specifications of chromium leathers. Studies show that an apple has higher formaldehyde levels than one Ecolife hide. The leather is produced in compliance with ACT environmental textile standards.
In addition to being chrome-free tanned, Ecolife is vegetable retanned and features waterbased finishing. Green Hides ships the fresh hides in sealed refrigerated containers to avoid salt treatments for storage.
