Italian tufts created uniformly
Gold, 2009 Design & Craftsmanship Awards
Proper Funiture, Los Angeles, Calif.
Upholstery Journal | August 2009
The frame was found at a hospital auction. A Capitonne, or Italian, tufting technique was used wherein each square of leather is individually cut and sewn together to create deep, luxurious tufting. 40 hours.
Judges comments: Italian tufting is perfect. The uniformity of the tufts is impressive. This is a beautiful and elegant, yet simple-looking, piece.
