Batman office chair
Silver, 2010 Design & Craftsmanship Awards
Delaware County Auto Upholstery, Holmes, Pa.
Upholstery Journal | August 2010
The office chair was originally upholstered in black cloth. The customer wanted the chair designed with a Batman theme. First, the frame was painted metallic grey. Next, the wheel covers were painted yellow. Afterwards, the pattern was created and the seat was upholstered using hidden-stitch grey pleated inserts, black bolsters and skirt, and yellow piping. All face panels were sewn to ½-inch sew foam. A Batman logo was cut out of black vinyl and placed on a yellow vinyl oval with grey vinyl outline. This project will be used by a lifetime Batman fan and graphic designer. 12 hours.
Judges comments: Fun! Very original. Built to suit the customer’s needs. The logo is well-done using good workmanship.
