Upholstery Journal | August 2010
This project was created for the Floating Hospital in Long Island City, N.Y. A two-tone design was used on the banquettes using a simple V-shape with a two-tone welt for the trim. The banquettes ended up being three different heights because of different applications throughout the waiting room areas differing partition heights. The cubes were designed for corners to help the banquettes continue around the room. More than 22 pieces were constructed for this contract, which was quite a project for small shop. The staff and management were delighted and ordered other projects within the facility.
Judges comments: A nice, clean design built to suit the customer’s needs. Excellent workmanship with a creative use of contrasting vinyl. Love the V-cut shapes.
