Powersports industry segments up
Upholstery Journal | August 2010
According to a recent poll by Gart Sutton & Associates, powersports dealers reported that side-by-side utility vehicles (UTV) sales are up due to increased accessory offerings and a consumer need for UTVs. All-terrain vehicle sales, which have been soft for the last few years, are up from last year.
While dealers reported motorcycle sales being down, it was reported that business was better than the last year. Floor traffic is also picking up, though dealers continue to offer a reduced inventory. And with many customers looking to repair rather than replace units, parts sales and service work is strong.
Gart Sutton & Associates is an authority of retail profitability in the powersports industry.
