Elizabeth Edwards is being asked to keep leather-upholstered furniture out of her new furniture store. Brook Dubman, a member of PETA and president of retailer Carol House Furniture, urged the wife of former North Carolina senator John Edwards to go leather-free because, he says, it saves animals’ lives and reduces pollution caused by leather production.

Edwards’ store, called Red Window, is expected to open in October in Chapel Hill, N.C.
