Formaldehyde rules pushed back
Upholstery Journal | October 2009
The California Air Resources Board is allowing retailers to continue selling composite-panel furniture that contains formaldehyde—for a bit longer, at least. Retailers have until April 30, 2010, to sell product that doesn’t meet new formaldehyde emission standards. Because of the current economic conditions, retailers have more inventory to sell. Officials cite this as the reason for the deadline extension.
