Drivers keeping cars longer
Upholstery Journal | October 2009
The “rapid replacers” haven’t changed their ways, but those who typically replace cars every few years are scaling back.
A survey has found that more people plan to keep their cars and trucks for longer periods of time. Almost 59 percent of buyers said they would put off shopping for a new vehicle for four years or more. Since 2005, that number has increased by 13 percent. Additionally, 5.68 percent of those surveyed said they would replace their car within one or two years. This number has decreased since 2008, at which point it was 10.29 percent.
This data could suggest that more drivers will need auto interior work done on their older vehicles.
